2012 : A Year For Upgrades!

I know I'm a tad late, but Happy New Year and Happy Chinese New Year!!!

The end of 2011 and the start of 2012 had kept me very busy and occupied, filled with stress yet very joyful events! It kept me so busy I didn't realize I never gotten around to post my new year resolutions! But many of them had been swimming around my head, ideas that might or might not be born...but had kept me very excited to kickstart my year! (So sorry I seems to always kickstart new years a little late than a normal person should! haha)

Anyway, I've never gotten around to update about my new gadget, but I finally gotten an iPhone! I'm enjoying downloading all the free apps, and taking photos with it....needless to say, my camera probably felt abandoned... but then again, I'm not sure why some of the photos resolution don't seem to be clear, while others are crystal clear, so I guess I'll still need my trustworthy camera to snap photos for clear details !

So anyway, here's photos as summary of people I hung out with and stuff that had happen until today! I'm looking forward to plant more of my time into this blog, hoping to make more tutorials and revamping the blog! Another promise I made to myself for year 2012!

This kinda photo probably comes once a year, because my elder sister is working in Australia with her husband (newly wed!) I've spend most of the last month in 2011 with her, since we'll only get to hang out once a year!

And end of this year, my little brother will be flying off to London to further his studies...I certainly hope our 'once a year' photos tradition can be kept and we can continue taking photos with all three of us inside as years passes by!

And since my sister is back, it usually means we are pampered to good food by her or her husband (lucky us!) So here's a random photo of me and my brother gloating over the high tea set she bought us at Delicious!

Jasper also got close to the both of them, but sadly they had to bid their goodbyes, and hopefully Jasper will be able to remember the both of them when they come home this year end!

My son's growing very fast, and since I haven't been posting much photos of him lately,especially full length photos, I am surprised myself when I realize how tall he'd grown! The photo above is taken in KLIA, you can see how my son loves cold drink...(please don't nag about how bad they are, I know it already!)

And then a few days after the departure of my sister, it's Chinese New Year already!

I sure does come by as a bit of a shock...and I realized how I'm not used to giving ang pows yet, because I conveniently forgot to go to the bank for small change AGAIN! I really need to make this a new year resolution for 2012...

Jasper welcome the Chinese New Year in a whole suit of red! :D It's Dragon year this year, and since I'm a dragon...babies born this year are like,2 decades younger than I am! FML

While attending our friend, Sue's open house, I figure out how Jasper figure out how adults look like when they take photos......hmmm...

Met an old friend whom attended the same kindergarten with me!

And got a little younger by playing with the cute app in my iPhone...lol

We're visited by many friends and relative back in Klang, and this is one memorable photo of Jasper's granduncle with him..both topless and in red pants! Photo Of The Year seems to appear abit too soon! :P

And this is his youngest aunt who'd pampered him as if she's an adult already!

Since we had a little change in plan, we only went back to my hub's hometown in Malacca on the fourth day of Chinese New Year this year, and the relatives are more than delighted to see Jasper again! That is his great grandma kissing him! One of the precious photo I manage to capture this new year!

The little boy also copied how his grandaunt sweep the floor, but only with the wrong tool of course!

Met with a cute princess when we attend another open house for dinner together! My mom decided she'll be Jasper's wife...yes, I guess older people thinks of the future too much!

And of the last day of our week long holiday, we went for a walk at Ikea and The Curve and although it is a little later than others, we manage to take photos with oriental backdrops to mark our 2012 Chinese New Year celebration! That is my mother in law, who'd been helping me out and guiding me along the way, a very awesome mother in law I would say! :D

So, there goes my Chinese New Year celebration, I was very happy and relaxed this year, unlike the past few years where I just felt plain stress...haha! but anyway, I enjoyed mine, and I hoped you enjoyed yours too!

2012 shall be filled with many more exciting journeys for me to discover, with many more challenges I'll try to conquer, but all in all, I'll never be this strong and excited if it's not for my family and friends who've been cheering for me 365 days, all year long!

I've heard of this vintage place for a pretty long time and I've always wanted to visit it ever since.

So when I needed to rent props for our team photoshoot in Bfree, I thought of this place and immediately set a date with the owner, Ade for us to go visit and hopefully rent a suitcase or two.

I weren't disappointed when we finally visited the place! I had my brother and my father with me and we all instantly fell in love with it! I love the location and the shop itself is such a collection of precious things!

The owner of I Love Snackfood, Ade happens to appear on StarTwo at the same article as I did so I manage to find out how she looked like before meeting her in person. Turns out she's even sweeter and friendlier! I love what she did with the space she had and how she'd arrange all her vintage collections so nicely, she surely had an eye for interior design!

Check out the photos I took from her space, don't you just love them and those quirky colors?

I Love Snackfood is certainly a perfect place for vintage lovers, and even more for those of us who'd grown up with those retro looking typewriters and electric fan that make silly noises whole night through! If only I'd been so dedicated like Ade, I would have stored and kept everything vintage from my home!

(Too bad they were all gone except for my grandma's vintage sewing machine that I'm planning to sell soon!)

I can definitely recall these wooden showcase glass when I was younger...am I that old already?

Freaky looking masks and games some of us might've receive during our childhood days are hanging on a panel of wall welcoming us!

At the end of the day, my brother who's a really awesome photographer, decides on the props, with 4 suitcases and a vintage camera inside!

Supplies Surprise! Four photos & Supplies Surprise! FIVE information!

Such a backdated post!

Supplies Surprise! Four happened on last year December, a closing bazaar for the year 2011, we prepared so much more entertainment and many presents were sponsored by our super awesome vendors for plenty of lucky winners!

For those of you whom haven't know of our craft supplies bazaar, I'm the main organizer for Supplies Surprise! Bazaar and this is also the first bazaar in Malaysia that put main features on materials instead of end product!

All in all, I had great fun and was dead tired by the time all the craziness was done with!

And yet again, the infamous 'before' photo taken early in the morning before the vendors pour in!

I like taking them because I am reminded of the changes it made at the end of the day!

And when the clock strike's 9am, our first few vendors fill in the empty space and as if like a fairytale, the empty space is filled with lotsa goodies and laughters!

And then the vendors are in and our guests arrived too! All the materials hunting will surely do us crafters some good, I actually am thinking of ways to gather crafters handmade done with materials bought from the bazaar! Won't it be so much fun?

Rainbows of felt are always so much fun to look at and collect!

Our lovely vendors, wearing santa hats distributed by the bazaar to have that little festive oomph!

Was thrilled to have Star Two reporter, Mei Li joining us on that day and featuring some of us in her report during Christmas day!

And yes...when you join numerous bazaars, I guess your head will start brainstorming of more creative ideas to display your products, and in this case our dearest Nabilah had packets of polyfibre chain up to her mannequin!

One thing I love about having bazaars is meeting new friends and catching up with the old ones, It's always nice to see the vendors getting along well together!

Christie brought over her wide collection of Martha Stewarts punches and other imported papercraft material and manage to grab attention with them!

Another fun fact of our bazaar, you see vendors purchasing from vendors so often it's nothing special anymore! Most of the biggest headache among the vendors would be to control ourselves from spending more than we purchase...barter system maybe?

And the shoppers shop hard!

Most of our vendors stayed back and took a group photo together!

Thank you for being apart of Supplies Surprise! Bazaar and we'll be working very hard to make this bazaar a better and bigger platform for craft materials hunters and awesome handmade artists too!

And to celebrate our fifth bazaar, we've decided to show a little bit more of love to our earth by just bringing your own shopping bag! Comic Fiesta Doujin Booth 2011

Ahh, what a backdated entry! There's been SO many events during year end and I ended up not blogging at all...and the fact that all my entries are linked to my previous www.lvbeii.com instead of this lvbeii.blogspot.com, that didn't made me very excited to continue with my blog :( I lost at least about 50% of my previous readership since then...

But anyway, so I took lrt with Ling for TinyPinc to comic fiesta for the doujin booths! I must be honest and say I haven't been a very friendly citizen of Malaysia, I think I took lrt in Malaysia less than 5 times in my entire life! Surprisingly, it was very convenient with my Touch 'N' Go card despise carrying such a big luggage bag around (as suggested in above photo)

I'm sharing booth with Ling and Mimmy this time, it's quite squeeze for three of us, lets hope we'll all be able to join next year and book for bigger space! However it was fun to have companion in the 2 days, since last year I was pretty much alone (not considering my friendly neighbours then)

Anyway, fast forward all the hassle of checking in and what not, I manage to setup my limited space with almost all the goodies since I didn't make much this time around. Spot the drooping kitties and animal buns earmuffs! They all got sold off which made me a very happy woman!

Made some really last minute vintage buttons rings because I realized how little stuff I have, I really love gold buttons and although I don't really consider this my creations, I just liked how they turn out to be so cute in photos!

I bought quite plenty of lovely creations from other doujin booths too! Mostly on drawings and some others like the badges above...no, I have no idea what to do with them or how to implement them in my sewing space but they are too cute to be not bought! (If you have any great ideas to showcase these in creative ways, please do share with me!)

Also bought from Aki her drawings once again, I really love her drawings...sadly I don't think I posses much talent in drawing so I'll just appreciate other talented artist work for now!

I really love this set since it come across more of a fashion illustrations for me, can't wait to frame them up too!

Sorry for such little photos, most of the time we were chit chatting and enjoying the performance and cosplayers going about! It'd been a fun event, I can't wait for the next one already!

Photo Effect

Recently I really enjoyed shooting photos of random stuff that happen during my daily life and although I think I am much more careful now of what photos to post (some people don't like being blogged about and others of safety issues) I still hope I could safely share the rest on my blog.

So I'd downloaded this really cool app called the Photo Effect Studio and I'm enjoying playing around with the effects provided! So fun!

And thanks to my lovely aunt and cousin bought this really cool Angry Bird shoes for Jasper! The bird part could be taken off although they are so cute I don't think we'll take them off! They say it's super red, just right for Chinese New Year! In fact, we already have a whole red outfit to go with these for the first day! Look below for it ;)

Since my sis is back till after her wedding, she also took some time to teach me baking! We did these almond cookies and I think it's really yummy but kinda over baked.... it turn out to be so hard to munch on!

We went to Ikea the other day and Jasper's so smart at giving poses now! He did the above one all by himself and stayed still for about 3 second, just enough for me to snap a perfect picture! :) My little boy is so vain!

Right : And I wrote about Jasper's addiction with rubber duckies....they never end! The amount just grew bigger after I took this photo cause my sister bought more duckies for him!

Movie Review : The Muppets

Once again, thanks to Seventeen, we are honored to catch this movie "The Muppets"!

I didn't really quite know what to expect of this movie when I search online for the movie poster, but seeing how much I love watching HIMYM, I'd be thrilled to watch any movies starring the cast in them, and in this case, it's Jason Segel! (Neil Patrick Harris also made appearance later in the movie)

Happy to say, I think he fits in perfectly for this movie with his dorky smiles and acting, I can't think of anyone else better than him for this movie really! And it was quite surprising that although I went to this movie with other 3 adults, I found all of us laughing out loud or smiling secretly at quite many parts of the movie...in fact, the whole cinema were filled with loud laughter at many parts!

The movie is a very joyful and relaxing one to watch, especially with little children that will be enjoying the colorful and funny puppets all through the movie with really lovely songs sang too! I really love all the songs in the movie and enjoyed most of the performance that came with them.

While this movie will be much enjoyable for viewers who grow up with the Muppets, it is also a refreshing change in the movies to feature puppets acting, something the new generation hardly gets to see these days.

Work In Progress

I made these drooping kitty headgears last year, and I'm remaking them these year too!

Comic Fiesta is the time to let my crazies out and do all the wicked stuff in my head that I dare not do any other time!

I like it to rush the stock for a bazaar when it's not an everyday thing!

And since when I'm not joining a bazaar, I hardly make stuff anymore, it's also a good time to recollect my love for making and use them all up!

These are (sadly!) also the time when so many inspiration will pop into mind and I will wanna make so many different things that I can end up quite sad when I can't make them all!

These kitty buns, I learn it from a felt book I bought the other day, mimic how they did it and was quite satisfied with the outcome, and then made the dogs one too! I made them into 'earmuffs' and I can't wait to make more of other animals!

I'm also making a little more hot air balloons for Comic Fiesta, and I'm really quite lost as to which will sell best since I'm selling new creations this year (except for the drooping kitty, which was last year best seller!)

Meant to be looking like bread, does it look like one?

I've been neglecting this blog so much I missed it so much too!

But it's year end! *Shrieks* and it's usually the busiest month for all of us, no?

So thank you for those of you who still remember to drop by this blog...hehe

I'm making headgears for Comic Fiesta 2012, the event is always crowded, and I think i'm seriously understock for the two days...So I'm trying to rush out as many cute headgears as possible! I'm also sharing booth with Ling from TinyPinc and Mimmy from MiifPlus this year, so come visit us on 17 or 18 December!

We went to Malacca last week for my grandpa's one year death anniversary, time certainly flew by so quickly, I can't believe it'd been a year since I last talk to him...Sometimes, I just hope so much for the existence of rebirth when i think of him...He'd always been so energetic but his old aged body gave up on him, I could imagine him travelling around the world if he's given another chance to do so!

But bittersweet memories apart, Jasper was given this really pretty looking wooden horse rocking chair by my uncle's family! Isn't it the most beautiful thing you've seen? It's also very durable and have seen better days, but the condition is still superb! Jasper is enjoying rocking his horse nowadays :D

Arthur Christmas

It'd been a very christmas-y day for me when I attend the screening for Arthur Christmas given by Seventeen!

As I am also preparing for Christmas Special in Supplies Surprise! Bazaar, I've been hunting up and down, left and right for christmas songs, christmas decorations, santa hats and what nots! It's quite depressing when I couldn't find them (with price tags right for me) especially since the focus wasn't on Christmas Season until lately! Arthur Christmas definitely gave me the kick I needed and reminded me of the christmas spirit of being caring, giving and united!

I invited my brother along for this screening and both of us had a really fun time watching!

Personally, I didn't think that the movie brought a whole new perspective of Christmas into view (although there are so many awesomely high tech stuff going on in the process and did I mention the elves are Oh-So-Cute?!) but instead the movie made me thought of how I've forgotten about the loving christmas spirit behind this festive season itself, and to bring this spirit to every other days of the year too.

Christmas is definitely around the corner now and this is THE movie I'd definitely want to watch with my son! (unfortunately, he is not big enough for cinemas yet) Not only is it a fun and happy story to watch, but the main message behind the whole story is just fantastic to let every single one of us to be reminded with a simple lesson in life : to REALLY care for everyone else.

Because remember, anyone can be Santa!

LvBeii Supplies Packaging just got a little dreamier!

(Or that's what I hoped for)

These much professional brand tags just arrived today and I've wasted no time in packaging some of the stocks that are sitting aside in a corner! I really loved how they turn out to be, and they are also much more fuss free, now that I don't need to manually fold brown papers, cut them and punch a hole in the middle... and that made me a very happy girl!

Sadly, my new batch of stocks haven't arrived yet...I'm seriously crossing my fingers and hoping they'll arrive at least 3 days before Supplies Surprise! Bazaar so I have some time to sit down and packed them up!

Event : Supplies Surprise! Bazaar Four (3 December 2011)

Yes! I could hardly believe that it's already the fourth time for me to organize this bazaar!

For those of you that haven't quite know about this bazaar, it is something along this line :

Supplies Surprise! is a bazaar that is dedicated for DIY and passionate crafters around Malaysia to gather together to buy their CRAFT SUPPLIES MATERIALS from craft supplies vendors around Malaysia!

We are talking about 30 or above different craft supplies vendors that will be coming together to provide all crafters a wide range of selection, for almost every kind of craft!

This bazaar does prioritize on Craft Supplies vendors and the other booths that joined in are craft teachers that had previously taught with The Handmade Movement and maybe occasionally one or two bakers that bake really delicious goods for all of us! (We sincerely are looking for opportunity to open this bazaar to handmade vendors as well, but it is still not quite possible at the moment)

We are doing it a little bit differently for this coming bazaar to celebrate all our festive seasons and year end celebration with everyone! Check out what we have prepared for you :

Simple Felt Flower Handmade Tutorial

I'm feeling very 'flowery' these days, I don't know if I'm suddenly feeling more feminine or if it's the festive season getting into my head... Anyhoo, I had been wanting to remake the felt roses that I used to make in the past but my itchy hands told me to do otherwise, so I made bigger and wider roses as compared to the ones i made in the past...

I also took photos of the process, although I'm very sure mostly everyone knows how to make one of these, but still I've been wanting to post a tutorial for such a long time I might as well get started with something easy!

I'm imagining these in a row of three for hairbands or wider hairclips and even start thinking about making a whole bunch of these as decorations or ornaments...I think it'll be fun! Anyhow, do enjoy this simple felt flower tutorial!

Step by Step :

1. Cut a circle. (mine was a...squarish circle, but it worked anyhow!)

2. Cut spiral shape along your circle felt.

3. Start off by making a cone shape from the inside of your spiral.

4. As you go around your cone shape, fold your felt outwards and downwards to create folds for your rose.

5. Continue going around whilst folding your spiral shape felt. Hold your rose tight with one hand while the other does the folding and going around thing!

6. Once you are done, stitch down the flower and the folds in the center part. Make sure all folds are stitch down so your flower don't go out of shape! (Don't worry about the ugly stitches being seen!)

7. Now put your rose aside, and cut out two or more leaves shapes and stack them as you want them to be.

8. Glue down the leaves onto the back of your rose.

9. Glue a bow (or any other embellishments!) onto the center of your rose bud.

10. Cut a small felt circle and stitch it all around the back of your rose to cover any imperfection.

11. Use hot glue gun to attach your roses onto any metal findings you wish to place them on!

12. Have fun while doing so!

My Daily Handmade Dose

Today out of curiosity, I checked my bag and see how many handmade items I have that I'll get to see everyday. Isn't it quite amazing how they played a part of our lives, especially when you're a handmade lover like I do.

I was especially curious since people always have this misconception that handmade items doesn't last very long. It is very much the opposite, since all my handmade collection that I used daily are still in good condition... but please don't judge base on their color since I'd never wash them from the first day I bought or made them...hehe, yes I'm quite a lazy person if you didn't know!

Pink stripes key holder :

I bought this from Pipit Zakka Shop but I never really keep tracked of the maker of my handmade items, I'm sorry if I didn't credit them here, let me know if you know them! This is very useful since my keys always got lost in my cluttered bag and it'd save my keys from going missing since!

Red polkadot handmade mouse pouch:

If you'd follow my entries, you would've notice that I use to sell these in my handmade collection. It's particularly useful for my mouse as I roll the wire on to the slim closure before snapping it shut, I didn't need to deal with messy wire anymore!

Owl Glasses Pouch :

I got this from Sasha the Sewing Monster and it fit my big nerdy glasses perfectly, another useful handmade item in my bag!

Tumbler Holder :

Again, I didn't know who it's creator was...Isn't it good if they could stamp in or sew on their business labels so I'll never forget? hehe, anyway without this I'll probably be very lazy to carry a water tumbler around! So thank god I purchased it (since I never gotten around to make it myself) and I didn't have to use those ugly and evil plastic bottles anymore! Save the world yo!

Personal Journal :

This lovely fabric cover journal is from Notbook-Notbuk, and I've gotten it from Fabric Fanatics Shop at USJ 19 Mall. Since I recently enjoy jotting down my ideas and plans on books I've been needing to get a new book every once in awhile (Making them myself is not an option since I'm so lazy...) Looking at the beautiful cover is already quite a treat for me!

Whimsical camera pouch :

Not sure who the maker was, but I've gotten it from Fabric Fanatics too! It was so cute I couldn't resist and it'd done a really great job in protecting my camera pouch too! Even better, it could also fit in my camera and my mobile phone and some cash when I'm too lazy to bring my heavy bag around! Couldn't love it more!

You'll probably be able to tell it's REALLY old and it'd been with me for the longest time judging from it's color and the awesome dirty marks (on my defense, this never ever touch the ground before) but namecards play a very very important role in my life and the pure joy of giving out my namecards cannot be replace with anything else (haha but I'm being serious here!) Thanks to this namecard case, my namecards are always in a tip top condition...making the joy of handing them out even better! And then again, I'd forgotten whom I'd bought it from...

Hot Air Balloon Car Mobile :

Okay, so this is not placed in my crowded bag, but that doesn't make it less important! I see it everyday and it's always the first thing that grab my attention when I look at my car! I think it's really fun to see my own creation (that I'm really proud of) everyday and it had instant booze of happiness since I really really liked hot air balloons!

So this is my handmade collection that follow me everywhere everyday! I think I just realized canvas are easier to get dirty...but then again it just proves I really use them everyday... now who says handmade items are useless can come and see me! :P

What I Hope I Knew Before Becoming A Bazaar Organizer

Although I'm no professional in being an organizer, I've been through quite a number to be able to jot down my thoughts on this subject. I've grown a lot as a person through organizing and have learn plenty (the hard way or not) throughout my 'organizing' days.

Noticing that many bazaars (especially handmade!) are surfacing throughout our country, it may seems fun becoming an organizer and maybe some of many would think that being an organizer is 'easy money' , which i seriously beg to differ. Every job have their own ups and downs, and surprisingly even more for being an organizer.

Note : As you read on, please keep in mind that this is only my personal thoughts. You may or may not agree to them, but I will certainly be happy if you get a little information from this entry.

1. Knowing what you have to offer.

It may seems easy when we thought that organizing something ALMOST exactly the same with other bazaars would be a success, they usually don't. I believe that the most important thing of a bazaar is knowing what you can offer and bringing that to the crowd. The crowd appreciate and love fresh ideas and originality, so if they were to attend two bazaars that are almost alike, they are most likely going to attend the one that are originally there.

2. Building a good crowd.

When organizing a bazaar, it is important to have a crowd. Many organizers often missed out on this point and start building their bazaars with a huge range of vendors. Although it is fun to have a wide range of vendors, they might also get upset when there are no turn ups in the bazaar. The same vendors are most likely to not attend your next bazaar if this happens! (and words always spread really fast!)

While building a crowd, it is also important to know your target market. Having a 100 person crowd that spend in your bazaar is much better than having a 1000 person crowd that just does window shopping.

Although having a venue with an original big crowd may seems like a good idea, it might also turn out to be that the crowd are the wrong target market for your bazaar, (although a huge crowd does help) we will still have to promote it to the target market needed to ensure that there are sales for most vendors participating.

Google your way and hunt down websites that give free coverage for bazaars, you can also use facebook, email blast, bloggers and people who are interested in what you offer to help write up and promote your bazaar.Think of ways to further promote your bazaar and bring them to life!

All these require hard work and dedicated time so make sure you are ready to do this!

3. Standing firm to your bazaar's purpose.

No one else knows better about your bazaar more than you do, do not compromise onto the vendors and crowd need although opening your mind and listening to what they have to say certainly could help organizers in many way. Regardless, know that the final decision is in your hands and that the main purpose of your bazaar is not defeated while compromising to others need.

Always update your Terms & Conditions and bazaars details or format if needed as this not only protects you and the vendors right but to make things clear among all parties to avoid unnecessary misunderstandings!

Remember, we have to look at the whole picture when organizing a bazaar, you won't be able to be the most popular person by doing so, but stand firm to what you believe is good for your bazaar!

4. Be cool, be calm.

There will be many feedbacks, good or bad, on your bazaar. First thing I always love to do is to prepare myself for the worst and remind myself to be calm. Somethings said won't be nice to hear, but they are feedback nonetheless.At times like that, just secretly curse how they are being such idiots and then when you cool down, think back and see if those evil feedbacks make any sense to you and your bazaar.

That aside, there will also be many feedbacks on how to improve the bazaar, which is very informative at times. Listen to every word, and then filter them to the important points. Some of these feedbacks might not be achievable (cash, time, legal issues problems maybe?) , just say Thank you sincerely, and move on. People will understand when you treat them with respect.

Things will happen when your bazaar is running, even the ones you deem most ridiculous. The door to the toilet got stuck at my first supplies bazaar with a fellow vendor stuck on the other side and many other people that are looking for a toilet on the other! Thank goodness help came (although quite slowly) and he wasn't mad at me! I was running around, apologizing and nervous the whole time!

Just know that, no matter how bad our bazaar is going to be that we DON'T HIDE! yes, please, don't hide! That's the worst thing you can do to the vendors and yourself!

5. Be Humble

No matter how awesome we all think our bazaars are, they are usually imperfect. Put yourself in the vendors shoes or the crowd shoes, and understand that they are always hoping for a better sales or a better shopping experience.

Always ask and show concern about your vendors, they had afterall trust you enough to spend their money and time to build your bazaar up with you. Get feedback on how they hope you improve and ask about their sales, you will need to know what is going on before you can do anything to improve your bazaar.

Greet the crowd if you recognizes them, some of the faces will be familiar when you keep spotting them in your bazaars, appreciate and thank them for supporting your bazaar, always remember that organizers are nobody if they didn't have any support to start with.

6. Man / Woman Up!

Being an organizer is great for building up our confidence and courage. Everything is in our hands, even at times when we will dislike having it! (It will happen, don't you worry!)

As said earlier, the first thing we'll have to learn is to NOT HIDE! Being a turtle doesn't help in being an organizer, instead it might kill your organizer job since everyone's looking and sum up that you're not 'man enough' for the job.

Always be responsible. I made so many mistakes I lost count of them! Always say sorry sincerely, and try your best to patch up the mistakes, people can see if you're making an effort, there's no cheating in this part of the game.

Have an open heart. Even when the mistakes are not on your side, there will be minority who will blame it upon you, say sorry (even if you don't mean it), keep your smile on (even if you don't mean it) and try your best to patch things up! People get embarrassed when they see you doing your best even when the faults not yours, so just do your best and what's right will remain right even if people don't know about them!

While I still believes no words can be sufficient to speak my feelings, I try my best to document my life, especially my little boy, Jasper's growth so I have something to look back and smile as time passes by.

He'll always be a gem in our eyes.

But having great photos are as good as speaking a thousand words, and I'm blessed to be able to capture our very best moments with the help of our relatives and friends. This photo above, is taken by my brother when we went to Singapore for a short holiday.

Time waits for no one, but to be able to capture time in a photo, that, is good enough for me.

little BIG Boss

Jasper boy had been growing very quickly, he's learning and discovering new things everyday and we've been rewarded with plenty of surprises by this little boy. He is yakking so much now and starts responding to us, he's definitely understanding what we are talking to him.

Everyone keeps telling me how he look exactly like me, and I myself am starting to see that similarity in our face features , although of course he is much more cuter than I do. Weird thing is how strangers starts thinking that he is a girl....I cannot get pass that, especially since he looks extremely 'gangster-ish' looking to me.

He can even understand that he'll need to froze and give me a cute pose so I could snap photos for him now! I'm extremely happy with this change, because this means I can have more photos of him to talk about now!

Jasper is 1 year and 5 months old.

Unripe Mango Sauce

We grow two huge mango trees back in my home in Klang, my husband always tells me my home is a 'kampung' and would tease me on how 'outdated' I was coming from there, granted, I agree it's true. But the joy of growing up knowing how a real live chicken looks like and to still see quite a bit of green when you open your eyes in the morning is one money never could buy. I never quite notices it until I start living out of Klang!

My grandma gave me 2 huge homegrown mangoes and told me to cut them and pair them with her secret recipe sauce. A little side note, I only start cutting fruits after I live with my husband family, since really no one else would cut those fruits if I hadn't. (Didn't have that trouble back home! haha)

The mangoes wasn't really ripe so we couldn't eat them as they are, so I made my grandma's mango sauce recipe, that goes REALLY well with unripe mangoes! I only learn the recipe sometime ago, and my husband loves it too!

Recipe :

1. White Sugar (5 Tablespoon)

2. Light Soy Sauce (3 Tablespoon)

*Just stir and mix both ingredients together and they are ready!

It's really easy that when I know about it I was literally quite shocked! I never know I've been only eating sugar with soy sauce with those mangoes until the very day... granted, they are not very good for health, but they do very well with our taste buds :P

I wonder if everyone else knows of this recipe? Or really it is only my grandmother's secret recipe?

Fabric Fanatics Shop Front!

Last Saturday, Kelly held her shopwarming celebration in her new store in USJ 19 Mall.

I'm sure many of you had heard of her store and had been buying from her all along, afterall she is one of the main and reliable shopkeeper for whimsical fabric in Malaysia!

I went together with Ling from TinyPinc, and we start to 'ransacked' the place in no time!

The shop gives off a soft and comfortable mood and although it was packed on that very day, we still had much fun going through every little corner and admired all the delicious fabric placed on the racks!

Kelly also dedicated a little corner of her shop to some local handmade artist that place their items there to sell. I got a little camera pouch here for RM25, quite a steal I would say! TinyPinc's cute clay stuff is there for sale too!

As you can see, she's busy handling the orders and cutting off fabric from the racks!

Some of her fabric collection, it's good to be able to see all of them upfront! It is a little overwhelming but I managed to control myself from spending on these big pieces because I don't have the time to indulge in sewing lately...I'll know where to go when I can though ;)

And beside it, is a basket of fresh roses from Lily, I took this photo just to mess around with her...haha!

Polkadots of course! I had the pastel colors one I bought from Kelly in bazaar and their made into cute little hot air balloons!

Little Hot Air Balloon

I've been indulging in some hand sewing nowadays that I precut the fabric shapes and bring them home to sew, and surprisingly it'd been working quite well for me, I actually get to sew quite many with this schedule!

I'm still making little hot air balloons, they are so much more cuter and easy to pack as compare as the big ones I made for the room deco mobile! As you can see above, everyone of them are just as huge as my fingers.

I've been making them with the idea of doorknob deco and car deco in mind, so I bought pearl strings the other day from my local craft shop and I love the way they turn out! I manage to also found some little cute ribbons ready made that I stuck onto the top of the hot air balloon! Definitely a more girlish look as compare to brown/ black strings!

And so I had the first one hung onto my car, since it is filled with many error and 'imperfections' (not to say that the new ones are perfect) I suppose no one will want it anyway, so I'm glad I'm finally using something I sew!

OH! I also added brown empty paper rolled into little notes to be written if it's a pressie gift! It is placed inside the little brown basket and can be taken out very easily!

I'm really happy with how it works out, and definitely lovin' it more than a necklace!

I will be trying to sell these during Cheers 2 Art Bazaar this 24 September, so I'll be hoping everyone will like these as much as I love them!

Oh No!

I unknowingly abandoned my blog didn't I?

I've been following my dad around the city this week so I hardly had time to come online!

But anyway, lets not bore you with the details and see how adorable Jasper is with another super adorable dog my cousin babysit for her friend!

Jasper finally had a chance to touch and play with a real dog when my cousin babysit a friend's dog! Needless to say, Jasper was very excited with this new experience!

Jasper attempted to kiss the little doggy and imitated how to bark! He made some scary sound in the process...

And although it looks like he's trying to feed her in this photo but in actual fact he is really trying to just touch her tongue probably because he keeps noticing how it's poking out!

And then he got really SO excited that he made the 'mmmmphhh!!!!' sound and squeezed his hands tightly as seen above while she wonder when this torturous ride will end!

Jasper was really excited to be able to touch and play with a real dog so there were moments when, I guess, the dog was really afraid of him... I won't spare you some of the gruesome details that ACCIDENTALLY happen but please rest assured that both Jasper and the dog is safe and healthy when this meeting ends!

Sweets

Nothing new, just some more sweets jewelries to pass some time.

I actually made these last month but never gotten around to take photos of them... I'm no expert in making jewelries nor clay charms but I still very much enjoy making them from time to time. Recently though, I do feel like I can make more of these and still wouldn't get bored, at least for the time being!

I haven't had time to craft and make more of these this month, with all the 'emergency' situations I'm rather mood-less to even touch them to get started! But my blog had been empty for quite a long while now, so I'm sharing some of the photos with you and hopefully start making more of them!

Oh, these are bracelets and all made with air dry clay. color are as usual, mixed into the clay with acrylic colors and then glazed a couple of times before making them into pieces like these.

Nothing new, I'm quite amazed I manage to make the cups by myself, but other than that, I wouldn't claim 'originality' for those biscuits, marshmallows or flowers even, simple tutorials can be found all over the web ;)

It's how we embellish them into big pieces that matters, or so it is for me!

I am thinking to sell them on Etsy once I'm finish with my REALLY rare bazaars appearance, since it's totally not my style (you know, being a mom and all) to wear these out myself, I'm hoping some lovely girls and ladies out there could rock them for me!

Messed Up!

Long story short,

my mother in law was admitted into the hospital for dengue fever a couple of days back and she is still in the hospital, hopefully recovering.

I am having a tough time getting used to taking care of Jasper and handling work at the same time, so lets not mention about the housework part!

I've learn and realized plenty of things from things that are happening around me these days, but I am also juggling hard on maintaining the Supplies Shop and The Handmade Movement and Supplies Surprise! Bazaar. The emails are piling up and most I haven't been able to reply yet.

If you see this, please bear with me for awhile, I'll do my best to get all things done asap!

But, just incase you think it's all bad here!

It is actually not, Jasper is being such a happy child and I'm enjoying taking care of him! I'm also learning alot more than I can as compare as when I didn't have to do all these so I'm grateful for everything! I just really hope my mother in law can get better really soon!

Back When I Was A Little Younger

I had a bunch of girls I've gotten to know in Singapore to play with me,

We did silly things, like wearing miniskirts and boots to Sentosa Beach.

Going into water and posing really idiotic poses.

Even attempt to murder one another.

(We must've been really stressed)

We had nicknames created for one another that we proudly show off,

And daydream about our very 'bright' future which we had no idea of.

Took childish purikura photos together.

But more than that,

We stucked together although we came from different countries and background.

And went through thick and thin side by side despise only a short couple of years.

The most precious of them all, none of us notice how we were creating memories together, and I'm proud that we'd created many many fond memories together.

And thus, Singapore had became a very precious place that held all these beautiful memories of mine...

After years of being back home, I'll be heading back to those memories and meeting up with some of the dearest people who'd created these memories with me.

I'm A Person.

I used to be happier.

Or so I thought.

Sometimes, I wished I never thought of starting The Handmade Movement, all the trouble, all the work, all the conflict, all the misunderstanding, all the time spent in it... I just feel like throwing it to the back of my head, pass it up to someone passionate to handle it, or to just scratch the whole thing and continue being someone who really enjoy and love making stuff.

That would make things a whole lot easier I suppose.

That, is the easy way out.

That, and not being labelled as someone I'm not.

No, I realized I don't want any of that anymore.

I'm not just a crafter, I'm not just a boss, I'm not just a blogger, I'm not just a bazaar vendor, I'm not just an organizer.

No, I'm not any of that.

I'm a person, and along with me, there comes my family, my friends, my passion, my likes, my dislikes, my strength, my weakness - my feelings.

I think along the way, I forgot that I am a person and many of others out there had forgotten that too.

I guess that is the core reason to why am I feeling down.

Because I've forgotten how I started out.

I used to be that lady stitching onto that piece of cloth to create something awesome I had in mind.

I used to be that lady that enjoy getting to know great people out there who'd become great friends as time passes by.

I used to be that lady who thought of forming a group of passionate crafters to come together and share our passion together.

I believe I am still that lady.

But instead of labeling ourselves as a group of crafters, lets just be friends, heart to heart, and then the rest can come later.

Bow Necklaces

So you see, I'm very fickled minded.

One day I'm sewing clothes, another day you'll see me carving rubber stamps, the next day you might catch me binding books, then when you peek in again, I'll be holding onto a headless doll...and now I'm caught up again in the Air Dry Clay bug!

That is why it's good that I'm not taking selling handmade seriously, with the rate I'm changing the customers might go nuts trying to figure out my specialty... The thing is I don't have a specialty, I just discover and learn as much I can as I go. I think that is the best part of having handmade as my hobby ONLY!

But you see, I was way into clay making back in ...2008? or was it 2009?

So every year I would have this fling with clay and for the past two years they come in handy to make sweet cute jewelries for sweet cute girls.

I hope I qualify as one of them, but I hardly feel that I'm cute anymore so I'll give it a pass. :D

A little discovery on Air Dry Clay : (skip this part if you're not the DIY type of person!)

One thing I realized though, is that ALL the merchants that sell air dry clay will tell you that the clay they are selling will dry in 1 or most 2 days top. The thing is, they are telling us the really fragile kind of dry? I'm not sure if you get me but if you try dropping your air dry clay at the end of the day you made it, it'll usually squash into pancakes! So NEVER trust the 1 to 2 days thingy!

I left it to dry for 1 full day before applying a coat onto it, let it dry for another day or 2 before applying the next few coat, and only assembles them into jewelry on the 3rd or 4th day. (depending on how desperate I gets) And ever since I learn a class of soapmaking from LullaBelle, I decided air dry clay should be treated like soap too and should be left air dried for 1 month before being able to market it! So I start making mine way early before I will give them away or sell them out! They last very long though because I found the leftover pieces I made back in 2008/2009 and they are as hard as rock and sturdy as can be!

Little teacups for earrings

Today I went to a print shop near Bfree and ask them to print my packaging in a hard cardboard so it can hold my clay jewelries, I always go there whenever I need to print events and good quality stuff because they print them out so nicely! They were a little pricey but I love the way they turn out to be, a little Disney inspired, and all ready to be dolled up on a cute sweet lady!

I'm enjoying my fling with the clay, and I feel like I'm learning more about the clay than before!

Birth & Death

Last week, when I was driving home from work I was crying because I missed my late grandpa so so so much. I was crying while driving, recalling all the little events that bonded me and my grandpa and my family.

But the sweetest thing happened when I parked my car and step out from it... Jasper was laughing and smiling widely and waiting for me to carry him.

And that was the biggest little moment in my life that made me realized how everything in life is so precious and beautiful, from Hellos to Goodbyes, from Birth to Death. The whole process every single one of us had to go through.

I realized how I didn't want to tell Jasper to 'Be Happy' or to 'Smile!' when he didn't want to, but instead to tell him to live his life to the fullest every single moment and feel sincerely for every inch of pain and happiness the journey will bring him.

I started looking at things very differently after the birth of Jasper and the death of my grandpa, they will always be the icon of Birth & Death for me. But at the very moment I brought Jasper into an embrace that very day, I realized a little part of me seems a little lighter.

I know how I keep posting about hot air balloons, they are for sure one of my favourite creation so far and nowadays I'm all hyped up about making the tiny ones for charms.

Theoretically, I'm not selling them anymore. (although I did just sold this one to a lovely customer I just get to know!) but because I'm very excited for Comic Fiesta during year end, I really hopes to get a booth to sell all the kawaii stuff I am in the mood to make for now. So yes, I'm gonna be selling and it will be only a 'seasonal' thing, (or perhaps a mood fling for me!) whatever you can call it! :D

PostBird = Jasper???

Awhile back, when I wrote about the PostBird I made , I think a couple of you was commenting on how the Postbird looks like Jasper...I was a little confused...I mean, I don't see Jasper having that big orange beak...do you?

But I was looking back at his old photos some nights ago, and I stumble upon this photo of his!

Jasper's Superstar Outfit

I'd always wanted to sew an outfit for my little boy Jasper!

So I got my chance when I stumble upon Sewing Patterns from SpinningSpool and Knit Fabric from Love & Craft during Supplies Surprise! Bazaar Two!

I really like how the T-Shirt turned out, I paint on the 'Jasper <3' with fabric paint bought from ArtFriend after all the sewing are done. I was very careful sewing this, so I reminded myself to place paper underneath the top layer just incase if the paint stain. I'm glad I did so, although there weren't signs of paint leaking on the paper anyway.

I sew a shorts to go with it, only following the pattern I drafted out from Jasper's existing pants and add on length to create the cuffs at the bottom. I used leftovers soft linen I got from Kamdar and the fray seams are sewn again and wrapped with bias tape, that's why you can see the blue bias tape popping out on the fold. :D

However careful I was, I am still the clumsy ol' me...

Thus here you can see a little patch of handstitch blue thread because I accidentally cut a little hole on the back piece when I was cutting hole to set in the snap button on the side of the T-shirt....

Long story short, it took me at least 5 hours to finish all the sewing and buttons and about 2 days for the fabric paint to dry and then touch up at some areas and then letting it to dry again.

And then it was time to put the outfit to 'test'!

Pardon my model boy, he's too engrossed in his new toy I just bought during the Toy R Us sales.

And boy, was I nervous!

I think it's because I really really love the super cute star fabric and was afraid it wouldn't fit nicely because I don't have any more extras! But it's also partially because I myself had very high expectation of this outfit to turn out awesome....

And I think it was adorable on Jasper!

The shorts was a little loose on him though, because I was so afraid the elastic would be too tight on him so I made it a little too wide! Lucky for me, this would be fixed using the trustworthy suspender I got him at Daiso so they could still work!

All in all, I'm happy with this outfit outcome and Jasper looks really comfortable in them too! :D

Little Courage Dolls for Little Brave Children!

I sincerely thought I could make more than 3 courage dolls...but because I keep remaking them with the correct way, I end up with only 3 courage dolls that I will send to Daisy to be passed on to the Japan children...Well, at least I can say quality is better than quantity right..haha

I enjoyed making them, even if I think that the hats are quite a headache! I tried making it so many times before these 3 dolls, so I hope they will be of tip top quality...

If you noticed, I made two of the dolls with more boyish color, only because I'm being biased here with a son, so I thought I should totally make them for boys since I see so many girls colors used for the other dolls from other kind participants this time... I guess it's normal...tell me it's normal! I bet you'll do the same if you have boys!

Putting the bias issue aside, I'm hoping these 3 dolls will find their sweet owners and will be loved by them soon in Japan!

Jasper's 14 Months Mark

Days like today, when I wake up to a laughing toddler, when I wake up to see him dancing to a nursery rhyme, or even if I wake up to his loud crying sound and super adorable crying expression... I wonder what I ever did to deserve him and wonder how life would've been without him.

Of course, this blessing also came in a package with a really sweet husband, helpful parents in law, great parents and all the awesome siblings and friends I've made throughout my life, but today, we'll just focus on my son, Jasper.

Oh,this one is rotten!

I've been a tad late on his 14 months mark, in fact he turned 14 months when we were having our Supplies Surprise! Bazaar Two! I've not been updating as much as I used to, but that's only because my camera is faulty and I could no longer take videos of Jasper now, which I am always sad about!

Jasper's been growing and is SO much fun to be with now! I say this at almost all the monthly updates on him, but it's always so true, and the joy is always growing! Especially now that he understands so much more and would respond us with his cute remarks!

He's learning to talk at the moment and could make out plenty more words now. He can also identify similar objects and link them together, often being his 'baboon' which is our balloon, his 'nanana' which is our 'banana', and elephants! Oh he has absolute love for this 3 objects named above!

One time, he pointed to my shorts button and mumbled exactly 'button' which caught me by surprise, and I would like to think of my son as a genius, mind you. (just joking!)

So yes,today I'm just showing off how awesome my son is!

Will be back when I feel humble ;)

Handmade Tutorial : How to sew a basic skirt

Before I start, this skirt is simply a way I thought that will be very easy for me to use, it is not a professional or 'correct' way to do it (or it is, but I didn't know!haha) But I hope it works for you too!

I wanted to sew a skirt for myself because I don't have a waist, or I do have one just that it's not at all obvious.....so the skirts in market are usually very tight for me..sigh..I recently bought jersey knit because a store in SS2 are clearing the stocks and they are quite cheap so I used them for this skirt as well. Other stuff that you'll need :

1. Wide elastic (length according to your waistline)

2. Sewing needles/machine, thread, scissors, other basic sewing stuff if any.

P/S : take note that if you are not using jersey for this skirt, you will need to finish up your hem at the end, which I didn't because the fabric wouldn't fray anyway.

Pic 1: Measure according to your bodyshape for good fit, otherwise follow what I've done and cut a rectangle shape using measurement 80 inches(width) x 30 inches(length) . Remember this skirt will flare and drape at the end, thus that much width.

Pic 2: Sew on the length line. It is the 30 inches side if you're following my measurement.

Pic 3: Open up the skirt so it form a circular tube, fold into half using the sewn seam side as guide.

Pic 4: This is how it will look like when you fold into half, it should look like a tube (other words,there should be a hole where you can step in) Also, this is the length your skirt will look like in the end, if you need to cut them shorter, this is the time to do it!

Pic 5: Get your elastic and adjust it around your waist, stretch it comfortable while you are doing so making sure it will not be too tight or too loose for you.

Pic 6: Lay one end on top of the other end, sew and backstitch for about 8 times or more (sew more just to be safe) and it should look like this.

Pic 7: Now that your elastic is sewn, get your skirt (that is folded in half) , hoop the elastic into the middle and fold skirt back.

Pic 8 : Pin the2 layer of fabric on the lower of your skirt to make sure it is straight, your elastic should be op top (where my hand is holding onto). Sew right below elastic (do not sew elastic!) and adjust skirt while you sew so you won't sew onto the gathers. It's easier than it looks like, I promise!

And then you're done! Try it out with floral cotton or other fabric for a more casual look! Reminder: if you're using cotton or fabric other than jersey knit, please note that you'll need to finish up your hem otherwise it'll fray!

It took me about less than 15 minutes to cut and sew up this skirt, have fun sewing! :D

Handmade Little Hot Air Balloon Necklace

I have a love hate relationship with the Handmade Hot Air Balloon I make for room deco purposes.

I love them because I personally loves them and thinks they are pretty upfront.

I hate them because they are SO hard to be photographed and they never turn out nice!

My hands was itching to sew today but I'm down with sore throat and cough and I don't know why but it leads to teary eyes and dizzy vision as well....so I couldn't do much and didn't want to try sewing big complicated things as well.

I had in mind to try make little hot air balloons and see if they turn out nice and I'm really glad that they did!

(well, at least for me!)

Now I might be itching to do more because the first one have a couple of flaws, but I'm thinking of giving it away to one of you if you don't mind it, should I hold a giveaway for this?

Supplies Surprise! Bazaar 2 Closure

Yes, the bazaar had finally ended and I can rest well for awhile and focus in promoting the handmade classes instead. I've been running up and down like a monkey for the two times I organized Supplies Surprise! Bazaar and it's not a very fun thing to do if I had to do it everyday!

But anyhow, I'm here to post a couple of photos as I didn't wanna post everything up when you can see them soon in Supplies Surpise! FB Page.

One of the empty bazaar only filled with the 26 vendor stalls at 10.30 in the morning...

And another one filled up with the lovely crowd around 12-1 in the noon!

I'm so thankful for all the dear vendors, friends and family that had help me spread the word and promote this bazaar around!

Rubber Duckies!

It's plenty of admin and laptop work for me this week since Supplies Surprise! Bazaar Two is this Saturday! So nothing will be brewing in the crafting room and I'll entertain you with a photo of Jasper's bathtime. This photo is chosen because a mother have to protect her son's 'privacy', haha.

Jasper loves his rubber duckies as much as he loves his bathtime!

I remember when he was only a newborn when we bath him in this very tub, fragile looking and helpless. Now he is this naughty mischievous boy that splashes water and squeaking his rubber duckies! It'd been such a journey although it'd only been a year!

Butterick Dress Pattern

I hope you don't mind me posting about sewing garments at the moment because that's what I'm into right now!

I'm also already planning in my mind to sew a dress for my mom,sister and cousin, a blouse for my grandma, a pants for my husband and a cute collar shirt for Jasper... but of course all these are just things that are playing around my mind and it'll probably take a really long time to finish the whole list!

I still wanted to play safe since I'd just started sewing wearable stuff all over again, so I dig out a Butterick Muse pattern I bought from Spinningspool a long long time ago and started to cut out the pattern pieces and bought fabric for them and started sewing them almost immediately.

This dress is under the 'fast & easy' category of their sewing patterns and it was really as said!

I'm quite surprised when I finish the dress in about one and a half hour! Although I did minus off the lining fabric, which can be the cause of why I can finish it faster.

I chose to sew this pattern using jersey knit,which means it's stretchable and wouldn't fray (yay!). It was quite scary to attempt sewing jersey because in my mind i'm only thinking about how stretchable the fabric is and nothing else...

But it turn out I'm worried for nothing because the fabric is easily manipulated and it saves me the time to finish the hem, which I didn't because they wouldn't fray anyway.

I really like how it turn out and how it didn't look like I'm going on a vacation like the picture on the original pattern did. I especially love the back tie, making it a little bit different than the other dress available in stores.

I bought the fabric from a shop in SS2 area, they are having a Buy 1 Free 1 sales so it only cost me RM32 for 2 meters which I think is really worth it for the quality. I used one and half meters for this dress , so I can sew something else with the half meter left of this fabric!

Little Boy's Shorts

I sew one for Jasper right after I'm done with his dad's boxers!

It's so easy it's nothing to show off actually but seriously, at the moment, i'm kinda losing my blogging mojo so I'll still post it up anyway...hehe

But it did felt great that I'm sewing something practical, I drafted this following his old shorts pattern and adjust the shape a little here and there and it turn out quite alright! And sorry, but the above is the clearest photo I had after shooting about 50 photos begging Jasper to stay still for 5 seconds, which obviously didn't work....

I know it's quite dumb to sew something to be worn at home, when the supermarkets here are selling it for only like RM10 or less maybe, but hey! That blue fabric is leftover from I-Can't-Remember-Where in my stash so it's all worth it to be sewn into shorts rather than having it lay around doing nothing!

Jasper's such a big boy now!

I'm always shocked when I realized that Jasper understands what we're talking now and could response so very well to us! Don't days pass just so fast?!

Men Boxers

I felt really happy and relax after making up my mind about not selling handmade anymore.

And then I start getting excited about everything and anything I can sew for my family....yes, typical me.

I decided not to be too ambitious just yet and that little successful projects will be what I need to stay excited about this..lol

So I googled for men boxers pattern and I stumbled upon this website that had instruction on how to draft one on our own!

Yes, I know how I've mention previously I studied fashion before I got married, but sadly, I really had already 'given back' most of the skills I've learn to the teachers...haha, so I kinda need to start from scratch to draft or drape and sew anything from now on!

If you are interested in sewing these too, my tips for this pattern is to FOLLOW THE DRAFTING INSTRUCTIONS!

I was quite hesitant at a few parts wondering why so much seams allowances were needed and almost decided to not follow it, but I ended up following every single thing and the boxers came out just fine!

I'm really happy with the functioning fly too! :P

The fabric is a batik print present to me by my friend, Sue, which I think she got it from another friend or her company client...I'm not sure. I'm kinda scared to ask about the price, just incase it's really expensive to be made into boxers..but it's too late now anyway! Thanks Sue, turn out the batik print really goes well with a boxers! haha!

Sadly, the website did not provide sewing instructions but I manage to recall how I sew pants during my school time and it went just fine for me. However, if you need help in any parts, just let me know and I'll do my best to help! :D

Now, I'm off to sew more boxers for my husband, and maybe some for myself too!

Net Packaging

It's always a fun challenge to come up with creative ways to package my products, I wanted them to be plastic free and still able to see through so customers can know what they are buying.

I was hesitating to make this sort of packaging because instead of straight packing, I will have to cut and sew up the nets before I get to pack the materials in them. But I really really love the outcome after I made afew, so I decided to just go ahead anyway for this packaging.

Above are a few of my available supplies products, they are not all updated on my Supplies Shop and will be done only after Supplies Surprise Bazaar on July 2,2011. Anyway, don't they all look lovely when throw together? :D

Can't miss out the brown paper anyway, so it was stapled as closure and I'll get to write the quantities and product name (if I have time) on it!

I also bought the racks and hangers to organize my stocks quite a few months back, it is really useful because now I can keep track of my stocks!

Because this packaging consume time, I am thinking of only having it this packaging for bazaars or walk in customer only. If I am sending the items by mail, I suppose I would use brown paper or plastic if I'm left with no other choice!

So what do you think about this packaging?

So you know how I'd say I've news to share in the previous post?

Well,

it's nothing big...

I just decided to stop selling my handmade starting next month.

I'll be selling my leftovers in half price at Pipit Zakka Store this 2 weeks (before my rental ends!) and hopefully I won't be needing to pack home much at the end of the month!

I will no longer take custom orders nor will I make readymade items to sell.

The biggest factor to this decision is because I no longer have time to maintain this. I will be focusing instead on updating and maintaining my Supplies Shop and the classes and bazaars I'm organizing.

I also wants to go back to how I'd started crafting, while pregnant with Jasper, the joy of just making things for the fun of it and for the people I love. I am no longer feeling the passion as I just create the same things over and over again and it is just meaningless.

I am being ambitious here, but I hope to sew more useful things now for my family and myself, instead of just sewing cute simple things.

I'll still be blogging about things I made and hopefully can be able to share new skills and tutorials along the way, just no longer selling them!

I think I will love it much more this way ^^

Lazy Monday

Last Saturday I joined in a class at The Handmade Movement to make this adorable bear key holder, I used it right away but passed it to my mom later because she's interested in learning it as well. The lady who taught was very nice, although we were all a little shy in the beginning. I'm looking forward to work with her more often in the future for many more interesting felt art classes!

Today I'm too lazy to do anything hard so I kept myself busy cutting, sewing and organizing this basket of nets most of the time! I bet you wouldn't know what it's for, i'll show you when I get them up!

Oohhh! And I grabbed that white basket for RM6.50 at a Cash Convertors shop near Bfree!

I'll also be announcing a small 'bad' news regarding my future work tomorrow or so (when I finish discussing with the parties involved) , I'm sure it wouldn't affect the most of you but I'll still announce it anyhow because it's part of this blog. :)

I'd reckon it's all for the better though!

Little Courage Dolls

I've recently joined a lovely group of handmade ladies that are creating Courage Dolls for the children in Japan.

Although this is not a donation or a big contribution for the country, I still would like to think that the courage dolls I made would be loved by a child and the child would gain a little courage and warmth everytime they see this doll knowing that someone out there still cares for them.

I suppose this is because if Jasper had to go through what the children in Japan did, I would like Jasper to receive some love like this.

However my little courage dolls are not qualified because I used felt as hair instead of yarn and a little button was suppose to be sewn on the clothes! Reminder : Read instructions carefully before sewing!

It surely seems like it was just yesterday when I am still feeling so anxious about how the bazaar would turn out to be, in a blink of an eye Supplies Surprise! Bazaar TWO is on it's way to town!

We're back and we've gotten BIGGER!

I'm overwhelmed when I did a headcount and find 20 confirmed vendors and a couple more on its way! I must really thank all the vendors for joining the bazaar and making this happen!

This bazaar is on July 2, 2011 (Saturday) from 12pm-7pm!

Remember to drop by and dig some crafty treasures for yourselves!

So yes, I'll be busy promoting this event and also making sure I have all the stocks so I wouldn't disappoint friends that came and support LvBeii Supplies Shop! I'll be selling them at a new (cheaper!) price too so make sure you're the first to grab them!

Kaka Market June 2011

It was my first time joining Kaka as a vendor, I'd been to the market once and was excited to be a part of the vendors this time around. My main purpose of setting up the booth is to promote the classes for The Handmade Movement, so I think I did achieve what I've set out for in the first place!

But because Kaka is a handmade market, I'm required to sell and focus on handmade items too so I did make quite a number of handmade to sell for the market. However sales wasn't too good that day, something I've not experience for quite awhile now, especially when we thought Kaka had been around for awhile now and is a good platform to sell things. Many vendors on the upper floor experience the same as I did and there was plenty of complain, but I guess that's what happens when they just open the upper floor to stalls and that improvement will be needed as the time goes by.

I have always wanted to come up with DIY Packs, heck I even had a button ready on this blog to sell diy packs. I finally did so and came up with the Capsule Penguins DIY Packs, I'm looking forward to make the mushroom hairclip diy packs too, but I guess that will need to wait.^^

On the right we have our PostBird that kept falling off the table that day...poor birdie!

He gotten quite alot of attention that day too but ended up still following this abusive owner back home :(

I've manage to share about The Handmade Movement to the crowd there and introduce June Classes as well, was very happy when almost quarter of the crowd already know and followed The Handmade Movement and quite a number also took interest in joining the classes. THM facebook page also received up to 20 new likes when I check this morning, and 2 emails from visitors of Kaka. I'm quite impressed, seeing that there wasn't much of a crowd on the upper floor yesterday!

Oh, and I brought along the handmade hot air balloon mobile deco with me that day which again received much attention but none was sold, I guess the price was at the higher side was the cause... (and that, well, not much people decorate their rooms eh?) many photos were snap, which for the first time I felt uncomfortable about it!

I was always alright when people snap photos of my handmade during bazaar, but yesterday there was quite afew that didn't even bother to look or smile at me (some even show black face) and proceed to going up close to the hot air balloons and snapping photos, which got on my nerves a little bit! I think if you're taking photos of someone else creation at someone else booth, you should at least pretend to be friendly? I'm not sure, just annoyed! hahaha

Oh well,

other than the photo taking part, I guess I was quite satisfied with Kaka and was very happy to catch up with my crafter friends! Thank you for keeping me accompanied and I had a very fun time chatting with all of you!

Into 13 Months!

At 13 months Jasper could finally walk with pride and not fall flat on his nose every 3 steps. He's finally enjoying the walking process, which was way different before this because he seems to prefer crawling over walking for quite awhile until recently.

He's also very chatty and naughty now, and loves to play and even trick us into his little plans. When we ask him to feed us with one of his biscuit, he actually took the biscuit in his palm, handover, but offer his finger to us instead of the biscuit! Then he'll laugh his cheeky laugh and grin at us widely!

Jasper's also able to speak in short words such as 'wattis' for 'what's this?' , 'watat' for 'what's that' , 'mer' for 'milk' , 'deh' for 'dog', 'piss' for 'please' , 'teh' for 'there' , 'beh' for 'beii' (my name...) and what nots. He also calls out 'mama' to me when he is crying, otherwise 'mama' and 'papa' is meant for the air. How sad!

Other than that, he can point at pictures and directions when you tell him the word, but this only happens when he's in a good mood. Otherwise he'll just pretends like he didn't hear you and go about with his toys or when he's feeling cheeky he would point at ALL the wrong pictures no matter which page you turn to and give you his infamous cheeky grin that you wouldn't be able to be mad at!

He has a very good appetite when he's healthy, he eats almost everything and would grab any food from my hand and wouldn't return them to me.........sigh! He's also able to drink from straw a week ago.

So this is Jasper mom reporting at 13 months! It'll be so fun to read this back when he's older and don't have time for me. :P

A Handmade Home Circus?

I remembering wanting to make both, so I guess it became a combination subconsciously...not that I'm very good at sculpting stuff, but I'm already very happy with this first try :D

It's for my new design of mobile room deco, I'm very excited to finish it and make some more!

It'll be sold along with the handmade hot air balloon mobile deco during this coming KAKA!

That is also the reason why this blog is lack of new entries at the moment,

I was invited to get a better knowledge of Sharp's technology, Ion Plasmacluster somewhere last week.

Ion...what??

Yeah, that's basically my first impression when Silv invited me for the event... I am a technology noob, or whatever you call people with no basic knowledge of all these machines.

So just to make sure I didn't make a fool out of myself, I read about Ion Plasmacluster a day before I went, which really helps because Sharp's website have almost everything I need to know! You can also read about how some of the clients worldwide make use of their product for daily usage, very impressive!

This is Mr Faizal, friendly and kind, explaining to us in detail about Ion Plasmacluster and how it works.

At one point I wonder if I'm in Science class all over again, but this time I find it much more interesting to go through the 'class' with all the simple scientific terms Mr Faizal use.

For those of you who haven't know about Ion Plasmacluster and doesn't know about scientific terms (just like me!) , here's your normal housewife review for it (if wrong a little don't be too harsh on me okay...)

Ion Plasmacluster is a technology that is mainly used to sanitize and to clean our air, to remove bad odor and is very good for killing bacterias and viruses. Extra bonus point because it's proven that this can also make our skin firmer and with more moisture!

This technology is completely safe because it releases natural Ions that are already on earth. Our forest, in particular, have abundance of these ions, which also explain why those countryside people live longer, because the air there is filled with these ions that can kill bacteria and viruses! While we at the city, because of pollution and what not , ion count is very little and thus more bacteria and viruses.

To make sure my letters will be received safely by recipients, I even sew snap buttons onto the poor birdie's lips...now, they'll surely be on time since they couldn't chit chat! :P

A Little Inspired

I've been far from handmades for awhile, not being inspired to make anything or create anything new...

which was honestly quite depressing and lost for me.

But I think I was subconsciously inspired by RIO, the movie with all kinds of birds in it when I watch it with my husband afew days back. And then I dreamt of a bird like the drawing above, made it immediately with linen and anything on hand the next day!

I haven't manage to snap a photo about it, but I am quite happy with the outcome! Now I feel like sewing all over again, thank you birds!

Jasper On His Bike

Jasper's granduncle and grandaunt are very generous to present him a tricycle for his first birthday!

It'd been Jasper's favourite toy in the house right now, he would fiddle with the wheels and everything movable and climb on and off the bike! Now, he would also rock his body front and back to let us know he wants the tricycle to move, which only means we need to push him...sigh!

Don't he just look like a pro sitting on the tricycle?

P/S : he's also taking more and more steps when he walk slowly, but he usually likes to rush and run (yes, even before he master walking!) and end up with his head down on the floor...

Kim In Pink

I've came to know Kim through blog hopping and realized that she actually designed her own blog template. At that time, I was very desperate to have my own blog layout, (not those free ones we can grab online!) so I tried my luck and emailed Kim if she could custom design one for me.

If you've seen how my blog layout had transformed to what it looks like today, most of the credits would go to Kim! For me, I can illustrate and all, but my html level is probably at kindergarten,so web programming itself is way out of my league!

So that was my first encounter with Kim. After that, I also designed The Handmade Movement logo and she did the rest for me! I love to work with her as she not only listen to what you want but also bring in extra elements that would brighten up your whole look!

Now, I've blogged about her and her awesome services once, but I'm writing again because Kim recently quit her job to go after her passion for designing, writing and fashion too! She had a great sense of fashion and wear really cute outfits!

Here, told you, didn't I?

She also released an online chinese magazine, Nuvco.net, which talks about fashion and lifestyle. I've got to know of plenty pretty cafes through there! They hold giveaways from time to time, so remember to update yourself and get free goodies!

Jasper First Birthday Party

Jasper boy hits the big ONE on May 1 2011!

We hold a small party for our beloved son and to thanks everyone for growing with us and showing much care for our baby boy since the first day he came into this world.

Before I start, all my photos are saved from other lovely family member ands friends, you can view their blog or website links at the end of this entry!

We plan on the color themes a week before and decided on yellow, green and blue! And because Jasper loves water alot, I've also ordered his cake in the bathtub theme and decorated the place with bathtub squeaky playmates!

Decorating a place is ALWAYS harder than I imagined. I always think its so easy until the day when the event or party arrives and I find myself rushing to finish this and that! So the same thing happen and lucky my cousins, Chi Yan and Kaf rush there in time to help me out!

I especially love the different hues of blue for the tablecloth, courtesy to my cousins and also the balloons that I manage to stick onto the food line table! I also paste all the photos of Jasper at different stages at the wood board and painstakingly tie ribbons to each pair of cutleries. I guess this is what you'll do own your own children birthday only! :D

We had the traditional nasi kunyit, chicken curry and red hard boiled eggs from my grandma and mom and spaghetti, cocktails and salad from my cousin and mom that day. We also takeaway pizza for extra food, which was a very wise move suggested from my mom cause there were more guest than expected at the end of the day!

The red hard boiled eggs is a tradition we carried in the chinese culture, I'm not very sure of the reason behind it but didn't mind to follow it because they were really cute! (I was hoping for blue, green and yellow eggs though...lol)

For Jasper's cake, I ordered them from my long lost friend since my primary school days, Eileen.

I told her what I had in mind and she carried them out with her own ideas and TADAH!

I am so happy with it! They received so many 'oohh' and 'ahhs' that day so it was money well spent ;P

Eileen is very nice and friendly to work with, if you are looking for customized cakes, try to contact her in her fb!

The cake stand, I made them myself, from..urh.. Daiso's plate and cup!

Stick them together with hot glue gun and you'll have your own cake stand for RM10! :D

Of course, this is not for perfectionist out there but works great enough for people like me!

Chi Yan brought me to a wholesale place, where I manage to get these cute little jellybeans to decorate the place and also to be munch on! We never expect them to taste good, so it was a nice surprise that they actually did!

Cynthia was also kind enough to bake me some macaroons at the last minute order and they were really scrumptious! My teeth will ache whenever I take really sweet stuff so I really like these macaroons because they weren't too sweet and I think they were just right!

Our guests arrive shortly after we're all done with decorations and party started before the little emperor arrive! how weird! haha

( He was having his nap time so he was a little late..hehe)

So when Jasper finally arrived with my husband and parents in law, he got scared and cried because they were too many people paying attention on him! haha! I got a little worried if he'll cry throughout the party but fortunately he warmed up and was all smiles and laughter after!

Our only little guest that came that day was Princess Breanna!

She's such a cutie pie with super huge eyes! It's no wonder she has so many prince going after her!

When Jasper and Breanna finally warm up to one another, they hit the pool of balls I got ready for the kids and I was more than glad that they both enjoyed it!

I hope Small Kucing don't mind Princess Breanna having another little boy being friends with now!

Then it was the birthday song and cake cutting ceremony which Jasper looks on blurly, not sure about what the commotion was about! Lucky he didn't grab onto the candle and was quite well behaved! (my biggest worry was that he'll snatch the candle..)

The party ended after we open the presents, with Jasper still looking blur or stoned as always!

My First Handbound Book!

I joined in Nadhrah's book binding class in The Handmade Movement last Saturday and made two pretty books!

It's my first time learning to make such professional looking books and am very impressed with the outcome! I gave the green one to my cousin because the book really reminded me of her even while i'm doing it and I'm using the other one as notebook now!

At first I was quite reluctant to use it because they are so pretty but I wanted to give myself a push to make more books when I ran out of it! I bought some materials and I'm going to make more soon!

Tutorial : How To Place Snap Button Into Your Handmade.

I've finally took photos for this tutorial.

Snap Buttons are very easy to be installed into your handmades and by knowing how to do it, they do give your handmade a much more professional outlook.

All you need is one set of tools and snap buttons and also a hammer to knock them into place!

The tools and materials.

I like to place them after finish sewing, but I think it'll be easier if you do so before sewing , you just need to plan ahead, which I mostly failed to do so.

As photo above, I've place tools into 3 groups.

The first long silver tool to your left is one that knocks a hole out of your fabric, which I still haven't had stock on. (stock coming in end of month!)

The second group of tools is for the bottom part of snap button.

The third is for the upper part of the snap button.

For easy reference for this tutorial, I've place (a) - (d) beside each part of the snap button.

1) After knocking off (or cutting) holes on your fabric, place button (A) below of the fabric, you'll see it popping out from the hole like the photo above.

2) Now place button (B) on top of fabric and button (A), if you look closely, you will see that the (A) part is inside of (B).

3) Next, take tool for upper button and press it into the centre of button.

4) Hammer on the top of the tool for at least 20 times (or that is what I do and works) and pull off tool.

5) You'll see that button (A) is now pressed open inside of button (B) and the upper part of snap button is done.

6) Next, like before, cut a hole for the lower part of snap button and place button (C) below the fabric.

7) Next, place button (D) on top of fabric and button (C).

8) Place tool for lower button to cover button (D).

9) You'll only see the sides of button (D) after placing it on top, now knock again about 20 times or more and remove tool.

TADA!

Told you it's easy! Now that it's done, open and close to check if it's working as you wish!

If The Sky Is Brown

Lullabelle Handmade Soap Review

I first got to know of Lullabelle Handmade Soap when I got back in contact with Patty, the owner of Lullabelle.

When I first know Patty, she wasn't selling her handmade soap yet so when she made a comeback to the handmade society with her soaps, I was very impressed! Her soap looks so good people would've mistaken them for cakes!

However, to be completely honest, I wasn't too excited about giving handmade soap a try. You know, handmade soap...they just didn't sound too convincing at the beginning.

But I still bought a bar from Patty because the soaps looks too good to be ignored, and I decided to just try and see if the soaps were, you know, usable.

My first bar of handmade soap from Lullabelle is one made with charcoal.

I think it was the best bar of soap I've used in my entire life!

I didn't want to give a verdict too soon, so I decided to finish using it before blogging about it, just incase rashes or what nots decided to appear in my skin. But I was so very impress with it and now that I've used that first bar till the very last bit, here I am, blogging about it!

Patty definitely earned my respect, and with that she is also now earning my money (T_T) because I'll definitely continue using her handmade soaps!

Plus point for Lullabelle because her handmade soaps are free from chemical and is completely natural because she made them from scratch with all natural ingredients. Her handmade soaps are good for our skin and also our environment.

Of Handmade Pouches and Hot Air Balloons

New packaging for my handmade pouches for cameras and mobile phones when you purchased them!

They're now available in Pipit Zakka Store!

I decided on a proper packaging because I wanted them to look pretty and great for those that are purchasing them for gifts. I believe that packaging is as important as the product itself, so I'm working towards that direction in the longer run.

Earlier I was hesitating on this packaging as this meant that you can't fiddle with everyone of them before purchasing, so I decided to place a sample with the stores that will be carrying them and hope the buyers will understand that the ones with best quality are the ones nicely wrapped. I'd plenty of rejected one aside now and am planning on giving them away to whoever nice who wants them during The Handmade Movement class days...

I'm still making these hot air balloon mobile room decoration for pretty rooms although I'm not sure if customers will like them. I made them because I love them too much!

I'm thinking of making a few to hang in the office, but then I don't have the luxury to do so at the moment. Hopefully I'll fulfill this little dream of mine in the near future, until then, hope you like the new packaging and products!

My Twenty Third Birthday

**Naggy Entry Ahead!**

This year, I truly feel that my age will be something I won't be proud of anymore.

I use to wonder why ladies didn't like to announce their age, I was seventeen back then.

Each year, I would still wonder the same, and think to myself that I wouldn't be one of them, since I'm young no matter what age I'll be in the future. I think that piece of optimism is slowly dying inside of me, because this year, I start to feel that I'm actually aging!

I don't know if this is because it's my first birthday with my little Jasper, or if 23 is the age where girls starts feeling old... and I start wondering if next year, I'll be as optimistic as this year, still writing down my age as my blog entry title...hahaha

The aging part aside, I still did enjoyed this year birthday with my dearest family and friends.

Just like every year, my bunch of babes that I've known since primary school celebrated my birthday with me. This year, I brought Jasper along, and thus less gossip between us ladies!

Can't believe we've grown so much together and I'm very proud that although each and everyone of us is a different person as compared to us in primary school, we changed and grow together and still am accepting each others flaunts and flaws till this very day.

I use to take this bunch of girls for granted, simply knowing that they will always be by my side whenever I needed them. Now that I'm older, I realized that they didn't need to be by my side but they still am, and that itself is a true present for me.

Since I worked on Saturdays, having organized The Handmade Movement classes now, I only celebrated my birthday date with my parents and my son during dinner time.

Maybe because I didn't hold any expectations for my birthday this year, I simply went with the flow and enjoyed many unexpected joyous moment. Saturday classes turns out to be such a warm feeling because all the teachers and students that came together with us always are filled with laughter and warmth at heart. I had a contented crafty chat with them and enjoyed the companions of the same passion.

My sister at Australia, also never failed to called me on every birthday to gossip a little. We used to stay together in a room and now we're so far apart! I remember feeling a little lost and lonely when she first moved out to stay near college. I still miss her now, but I've gotten used to having a sister far away from me and knowing the fact that our bond will never break, this feeling actually do make me proud for having such a awesome relationship with my siblings!

On Sunday,

We had dinner again with my family, this time with brother, grandma and my cousin and her family!

I think it's my family tradition to celebrate birthdays for at least two times before getting over it! I'm very happy with this tradition so I'll obviously be handling over this tradition to little Jasper!

We had dinner at a Japanese restaurant near Bfree, and had a little bonding session with my cousins! We've been pretty caught up in our own lives so it's always awesome to chit chat with them!

So the dinner kinda ended my birthday celebration..

(kinda cause darling Joanne promised me a dinner!hehehe)

A huge THANK YOU to everyone of you for wishing me on my birthday and dropping a message in my facebook and email! And a super huge THANK YOU for my family and friends for treating me to dinner, getting me very lovely presents and my mom even a macbook pro!

Thank you for letting me enjoy the day although I am beginning to age...

A Little Bit of Dreamy, It Never Hurts

I'm being a little lost at the moment at the 'work' department.

I've so many plans and so little time.

I'm in so many places and it feels like I've been to none at the end of the day.

So many things that need to be thought of over again and so many work to be reorganize for a better system.

Somethings needs to be sacrificed in order for other things to survive and hopefully bloom into something wonderful but I admit I'm not ready to let go any part of this...

So I'm trying to calm down and take a small step once at a time, and hopefully at the end it will be a decision true to my heart.

I made another hot air balloon despise all this craziness going around in my head.

I think I miss being dreamy and laid back and naively dreaming that the clouds were made of marshmallows and rain of gumdrops.

I want to spread this dreamy feeling, so I'm making more to be made into hanging decoration so we all will remember to relax and be dreamy for a little while, before heading back to this crazy world we live in!

P/S : I miss holding giveaways too, although I don't know if anyone is missing participating in them...

New Phone Pouch Design Coming Soon!

I made a sample base on my new design for the mobile phone pouch last Saturday.

I liked how it turn out to be, if not for the fabric pattern that turn out upside down...

(must be cautious when laying fabric pattern down)

Of late my designs are made from scrap fabric collected or bought from other fabric shops and mixing it with belacu cloth.

Other peoples scrap can be my treasure!

I hope to design and make a wider range with this concept so we can all minimize wastage for all these beautiful fabric!

As usual, my designs and handmade are more minimal and basic, I like it that way as compare to highly accessorized and patchworks. I think these basic mixture relate more to myself.

Jasper's Passport Adventure

A couple of days back, we brought Jasper to get his passport done in Kelana Jaya.

He was excited (which happens every single time we head out from the house) but really thumbs up for fast and good service over there! Only one and a half hour later, we got our passport done and Jasper was as cheerful as he could be during the whole process!

Anyway, the photo above is Jasper's passport picture!

He is quite nervous being in a big dark room with a stranger holding up a camera infront of him, I'm sure you can see his overwhelmed expression in the photo!

However this is behind the scene,

where you also see how he tightly he had gripped onto his mommy's hair for safety and still not forgetting to command with the other hand.

So, just out of curiosity...

Linen Handmade Totebag

During Supplies Surprise! Bazaar last Saturday, I saw this really pretty linen at Fabric Fanatic's booth and I decided on the spot that I'll get it and make a bag...although I don't really need an extra bag...

And then I grab a leather strap for the bag from Bits Of Pink's booth to go with the bag, since I never tried sewing one of these before!

So within the next two days, I quickly whipped up a really easy to do tote with the two main ingredients and now I have a bag to hold my handmade products whenever I need to drop them off to the customers!

It works just great for me, since I also place a piece of batting in the middle for the extra coziness!

I Made A Frog Puppet!

First, please let me explain why I'm not updating about Supplies Surprise! Bazaar 1...

My memory card is infected and NONE of the photos survive...made me sad for half a day!

I'd after all, go booth by booth taking nice photos hoping to leave some good memories for the vendors and me!

But anyhow, I still want to thank all of you that had came all the way to support us and help us spread the news! It really did make a difference to the bazaar! I could've never done it by myself! So a huge huge THANK YOU for you!

Now, lets move on for a little while and see the other project I'd been making for Discovery House.

In fact, I've done d.i.y kits for their students a couple of times already but never mention just in case I jinxed it. I hope it won't happen now, but I can't help but to share this frog puppet with you!

I'm making several animal mouth puppets for their big play and is done with the frog and rabbit..I'm suppose to send it to them before next Tuesday...I don't know how I'll do it, lets just hope tomorrow I can finish another 2 puppets!

The frog's mouth can be open and close , I forgotten to take a photo with the mouth open!

I think it's kind of the ugly cute, I love it, but I hope the children won't be scared of it...

The hands are non-functional, stuffed with polyfibre!

Thanks to Discovery House, I've start researching into puppet making and learn something that I'll never have learn without this chance!

Jasper's Eleventh Month

I really didn't want to blog without photos, but my card reader broke down and now I can't upload photos until I get a new one, so here is one of Jasper's latest photo I uploaded before then!

Jasper is in his eleventh month and in no more than a month time, we'll be celebrating his FIRST birthday! I can't believe how time flew by, it really just seems like yesterday when I was grumbling about my super huge tummy and backache because of this pregnancy!

Our little emperor is starting to understand plenty of things and had been getting very grumpy recently whenever we leave the house without him. He'd start walking up to 11 steps now although I think he's quite lazy to walk...he always prefer to crawl..sigh.

Life with him had been tough but very rewarding, and thank god for all my family members that helped me take care and love my son as much as I do. I wouldn't have made it this far alone! Total salute to all the mommies that had sacrifice all their time for their little ones!

In another month, I'll be back with Jasper post, without a 'month' but a 'year' at the end!

Busy with Craft Supplies Bazaar

Sorry about the lack of updates in this blog!

I've been missing the feeling of blogging but unfortunately for this week, I can't find the time to do so.

To cut the long story short,

I'm busy preparing and organizing for this Saturday's Supplies Surprise! Bazaar!

If you haven't know about it,

this is a craft supplies bazaar which gathers most of the online supplies shops to come together and sell our supplies! My Supplies Shop will be there too, and you can also register for craft classes on the day!

It's happening on 2nd April, 2011 (This Saturday!) , opposite Sunway Pyramid's main road (map & full add click here please!) and is from 12pm - 7pm.

Ms. Don't Know

Once I was this girl that is really timid with no strong personality.

When someone talks to me, I would lower my head and speak really softly, when they ask me questions I would answer 'I don't know' as it is the easiest one I could think of.

So it was always 'I don't know' when questions are thrown my way, and I ended up with a nickname called Ms. Don't Know given by my dearest family. I was pretty proud of such a nickname, although I think I did subconsciously dreaded it.

Before long, it was time for me to go overseas and be on my own and I really did want to prove that I do know some things.

So I start replying with what I knew and it became such a bad habit to want to prove myself that even when I don't know things, I actually pretend that I know them.

Acting smart is actually really annoying, if I say so myself.

I was so engrossed in it I didn't notice, until one day one friend finally asked me

'Why do you know everything?'

She obviously meant it in a sarcastic way, but I'm really thankful for her for saying her thoughts out loud.

For the first time after years of me pretending knowing and understanding everything, I finally woke up and asked myself what had just took place? I finally realized that I've been pretending so much that I start lying to myself that only by knowing everything then will I be accepted and am 'normal' by the rest.

So now after years flew by, I know, that I didn't need to know everything, I just need to be truthful to other people, and most importantly to myself.

I thought to myself, what kind of mom should I be to Jasper?

What should I do when he starts asking ALL the questions in the world?

Should I pretend like I know them and sneakily finds the answers?

But then it would be the same like I was a few years back, and that definitely is not what I want to portray as a mom to my children. I will never want my children to think that pretending is the right way to socialize.

So I decides that I would do my best to be a real person, even as a mom.

I didn't need to be a supermom, I just need to be who I really am in front of my boy.

Telepathy!

I met up with Alissa from Kawaii Station yesterday!

First of all, omaigod, she's so pretty and sweet I got nervous! (I think I developed phobia towards good looking people :P)

I was in a rush, so we didn't had time for a long chat but guess what the sweet lady present me?

A really cool and awesome rubber stamp books with lotsa cool ideas!

I was a little taken aback when she present me with the book.

I mean, that morning, I was thinking, hmm.. I should hunt for some brown paper bags since I needed them for a big puppet kits order, and I manage to grab a packet of doilies while I'm at it.

And then there Alissa stands, with a book that have exactly what I've bought on its cover!

There must be some kind of cool crafty telepathy for this!

So, I guess that kinda explain the blog entry :P

Alissa had always been such a sweet blog friend and I'm glad to have finally meet her!

Ooh!

Notice how my background layout had changed?

Much thanks to Sasha the Hot Momma and Bestest friend that was so helpful and volunteered to buy me the green grass patches that I've been asking for in my Facebook status the last two days!

So I carved a stamp I doodled last night and really loved how it turn out, especially when its stamp with a rainbow ink pad! My new series of handcarved stamps will be very earthy friendly, since I'm quite freak out with all the disasters happening at the moment. (might be a little too late, but better late then never right?haha)

But too bad for me, my favorite brown paper doesn't eats the rainbow ink pad too nicely and the colors wouldn't show up so beautifully like it did on white paper! So I did the rainbow as the background and added another black layer in front. The rainbow turns out to be like a shadow, which I am quite fond of!

I think the phrase 'Tree Hugger' is really cute, so here goes a tree hugger, literally hugging onto the tree!

I know, like finally!

Sorry but I've been so busy with so many things at one go!

Please go check out the new items, I've brought in magnetic snap buttons, tools for making snap buttons, and restocked on the ball chain as well, I've also bring in the bronze color for ball chain but I haven't manage to post a photo on it. Just let me know if you're interested in getting that! (same price with metal color for now!)

I've also brought in the flexible frame to make this cute pouch above!

I haven't manage to try it myself but I certainly cannot wait to get my hands on them!

As for other hot selling items like the D.I.Y ring bases, 2 in 1 brooch, hairbands... I've place an order for them quite awhile back so I suppose they'll be here in no time!

Little Froggy

Say Hi to my little froggy, the one I made with the pattern and fabric pack bought from Manmanku during etsy bazaar! I added a little heart brad in the middle and followed almost everything else because it's just so cute.

Stuffed it with a mixture of red beans and polyfiber, just to entertain Jasper with a little texture during desperate times. It came out so tiny which made it cuter than ever! My first REALLY little plushie, I should really do more when I have the time!

Pipit Zakka Store

I've been to this little zakka space for a couple of times now and had been very lucky to be able to place my handmade there to sell. I bet most of you know about them, since they are very establish and popular now!

The owner of Pipit, Mike & Ivery, is a loving couple who are very humble despise of their achievements in the handmade society. I wouldn't say I'm know them well since I'm almost always awkward when striking a conversation, but the vibe they send out are so harmonious and loving I almost couldn't believe there's such a great couple with same passion as well!

If you haven't got to know of Pipit Zakka Store, they are gathering and selling many of the local handmade artist work to be sold in that little zakka space. I think it's Disneyland for handmade lovers!

The store is furnish in zakka style and the colors are mostly natural hues, which I personally love, I think the natural colors and furniture made the handmade items stand out and feels really homey at the same time!

I manage to capture some of the handmade the other day, enjoy!
